Ovulation Test Cassette Instructions

IMPORTANT: Please read our test instructions carefully and completely before beginning testing.

Introduction

Ovulation tests are used for the detection of ovulation surge, which occurs 24-48 hours prior to the release of the mature ovum. They work through by detecting Luteining Hormone(LH), which is released in greater concentrations leading up to ovulation surge. Our ovulation tests have a sensitivity of 25 mIU/mL, allowing for quick and accurate qualitative results.

When to Start Testing

Prior to using an ovulation test it is necessary to determine the length of your menstrual cycle. This is the number of days from the first day of menstrual bleeding to the day before the next bleeding starts again. Refer to the following chart to determine when you should start testing. The first day of bleeding is day 1. Perform testing 6 days in a row or until the LH surge (darkest test line) has been detected.

Sample Collection

• Do NOT use first morning urine. LH is synthesized in the body early in the morning. The best time to collect a sample is 10AM - 8PM. Collect at approximately the same time each day.
• Always use a clean plastic or glass container for sample collection.
• Before testing, wait(at least 5 minutes) for the urine to reach room temperature.

Testing Procedures

1. Bring the test pouch to room temperature (18-30°C) . To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch.
2. Use the included dropper to collect some urine sample.
3. Carefully apply 4 drops to the round well in the sample intake area by gently squeezing the dropper.
4. Lay the cassette on a flat, clean horizontal surface.
5. Allow 5 minutes to complete the test reaction. Positive results may be observed in as litle as 60 seconds; however, to be accurate results should be interpreted after 5 minutes.
Do NOT read results after 10 minutes.

Diagram and Results

• Positive:
  2 color bands appear in the result window. The top is the control line, the bottom is the test line. The intensity of the test band will increase as ovulation surge approaches, usually for 1-3 days. When the test band is nearly equal to or darker than the control band, ovulation will likely occur within 24-48 hours. To increase likelihood of pregnancy, the best time for egg fertilization is within 24 and 48 hours of this.

• Negative:
  1 color band appears in the result window. This indicates that only the sample has flowed through the test, but LH, and therefore ovulation surge, has not been detected.

• Invalid: If no control line appears, the test was performed improperly or an error occured. Please repeat the test with a new device and follow instructions carefully.

Warning and Precautions

• Store tests at room temperature (18 - 30°C) in the sealed pouch, away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
• This test is designed for single use only and should not be reused.
• Do not use the results of this test as an aid for contraception.
• Urine from pregnant women, women in menopause, or after receiving a hCG shot (injection) should not be used with this test, and will cause inaccurate results.
• If you are taking hormonal medications please consult with your fertility specialist.
• If irregular or unusually long cycles are experienced, or if you are experiencing consistent problems in detecting ovulation surge please contact your physician or fertility specialist.
• Do not use test kit beyond expiry date printed on package.
